  Cooper/T. Smith de México

In 1995, we signed a partial assignment of rights with API-Altamira, which encompassed financing, construction and operation for two berths, with a total investment of over 40 million USD. The agreement has a 20-year duration, renewable for an additional 20 years.

The terminal, operated by Cooper/T. Smith de México, S.A. de C.V. which is equally owned by GMD and the Cooper/T. Smith Stevedoring Company, addresses the import and export needs of the mining, chemical, steel, and cement industries in Mexico. Our customers benefit significantly as the terminal is a bonded warehouse and is connected to both railroad carriers in the country.

Following the completion of the second berth in late 2006, the terminal's handling capacity was boosted to over six million tons per year.

Cooper addresses the import and export needs of Mexico’s mining, chemical, steel, and cement industries and offers significant advantages to its clients.
